Scam Alert
On 11/20/25 we received information from a local business letting the Town know that they had received an “Invoice” for $4,800.00 from the “Town of Lyndeborough Planning Commission” payable by a wire transfer. The “invoice” had blurry, pixelated copies of the Town’s seal on it.
Lyndeborough has a Planning BOARD, not a Planning Commission, and they do not send out invoices (especially ones with blurry scans of the Town’s seal). The Town also doesn’t accept wire transfers. There were several other issues with the “Invoice” and fortunately the local business called to ask about it before they lost a lot of money.
We encourage any of our residents who may receive an unexpected bill from the “Planning Commission” to either email the Land Use Assistant or call the Town Offices at 603-654-5955 to verify it isn’t a scam before sending any money. Please DO NOT send any wire transfers. The Town accepts payment by check, either in person or through the mail, as well as cash or credit card in person. There are fees for Planning Board and Zoning Board of Adjustment cases, but they are made clear during the application process.
